Our department offers several scholarships for students in Religious Studies, as shown below. Scholarships for Classics can be found here.
Rombach and Bretall Scholarships
Religious Studies majors have benefited from the generosity of two major donors to the Religious Studies Program: Lionel Rombach and Ora Bretall. Each fall, outstanding Religious Studies major receive scholarships from the Rombach and Bretall Scholarship Funds, to apply toward spring tuition and other educational needs.
Awards will be made based on academic achievement, need, and seniority in the Religious Studies Program (the number of courses taken toward completing the Religious Studies major). Priority will be given to students who have completed more than three courses applying toward their Religious Studies major. Students are encouraged to wait until the fall of their final year in the program to apply, as any awards made typically have higher funding amounts for applicants with the most seniority. Students can only receive one Rombach/Bretall Award. Once a student has received a Rombach or Bretall Award, they are ineligible for future Rombach/Bretall Awards.
Value of Rombach/Bretall Scholarship: $1,000-$2,000

- Applicants must be Religious Studies majors in good standing
- Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Awardees must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units of credit at the University of Arizona during the following Spring semester.
